As much as I resent the predominance of Richard Dawkins’ philosophical stupidity on British television these days, there is plenty to learn from this nice little documentary. I do not consider myself creationist nor a Darwinist: I think this dogmatic polarisation of views on the subject of evolution/creation is absurd. It makes me laugh when people level similar arguments against creationism against intelligent design theory: the two couldn’t be further apart and – as is often the case – the problem lies, I think, in the definition of terms (read anything by Dawkins to see these semiological conundrums take place with astonishing regularity and brazen absurdity): in this particular case, ironically, the term ‘intelligence’. Anyway, enough of me. Listen to Richard. He knows everything. Be warned: if you dare express an opinion to the contrary of ‘rational, intelligent thought’ – as prescribed by his, in my opinion, illogical and unscientific nihilism – he will get arsey. But don’t worry, he’ll never hit you. He went to Oxford. That sort of thing is frowned upon here. Apparently it shows weakness of character.
