I have had a similar case with an Asylum Seeker from Congo.

She has gained her “Leave to remain” through the gargantuan efforts of her Solicitor, the examination by a recognised expert in ‘evidence of torture’ victims, and by persistent approaches to MPs over time. The Solicitor was experienced and refused to give up until she had a cast iron case with evidence from Congo as well as UK.

I wish every good luck to this tragic case and a successful appeal. She is NOT a case. She is a person. Did her Solicitor know the boxes that needed ticking and did her Solicitor ensure that these were able to be ticked? The Border Agency do have criteria that have to be fulfilled. A good solicitor will work to have ticks that will fill these boxes.
