“What should every person know about the food they ingest. The documentary “The Future of Food” changed the way we think about food(and continues to do so) by answering this very question. But, just how has food actually changed? Do we need to worry about genetically modified foods? What about artificial foods? Learn all this more as Kurt Olson, host of the Educational Forum, sits down with Deborah Garcia the award winning creator of “The Future of Food.
“The relationship between photographers and police
could worsen next month when new laws are introduced that allow for the
arrest and imprisonment of anyone who takes pictures of officers
‘likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of
terrorism’.”
This has been on the horizon for some time, as the footage above shows: two kids harassing a senior local resident for breaking a law that – at that time, and at the time of this posting – did not and does not exist.
A very good re-mix of documentaries tracking the historical and contemporary exploits of institutions, corporate and governmental, to enslave post-modern man.
While ‘communism’ still takes an unfair bashing (it meaning, actually and technically, decades of propaganda aside, the interdependency of small trading communities) this video gives the unfamiliar a good basic understanding of what the narrator calls the “political spectrum”. That is, where civil freedom and liberty begins and ends under the gaze of different types of leadership. It’s simpler than you’ve been led to think. Enjoy. And happy new year!
“Documentary on the events that led to the economic collapse of Argentina in 2001 which wiped out the middle class and raised the level of poverty to 57.5%. Central to the collapse was the implementation of neo-liberal policies which enabled the swindle of billions of dollars by foreign banks and corporations. Many of Argentina’s assets and resources were shamefully plundered. Its financial system was even used for money laundering by Citibank, Credit Suisse, and JP Morgan. The net result was massive wealth transfers and the impoverishment of society which culminated in many deaths due to oppression and malnutrition. If you want to stop the same thing from happening here, and it is happening here, right now, please join the revolution at the Kick Them All Out Projet http://www.KickThemAllOut.com and the Fire Congress Campaign.”
Any of the above sound familiar? Probably the best documentary I’ve seen on this subject since Pilger’s War on Democracy. In particular there is a small section where treason is discussed as an economic and political mechanism, used as regular as clockwork during most – if not all – administrations of government: including our own.
“Jane Corbin investigates claims that as much as $23bn may have been lost, stolen or not properly accounted for in Iraq. Now more than 70 whistleblower cases threaten to reveal the scandals behind billions of dollars worth of waste, theft and corruption during the war. The US justice department has imposed gagging orders which prevent the real scale of the problem emerging.”
Interesting question considering the current taxpayer bailouts of the international banking system. Doesn’t that mean we own them now? Yeah. Right.
